MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 14, 2019) — Twin Cities business executive and author Nancy M. Dahl has been recognized by the National Indie Excellence Awards and the New York City Big Book Award for her book, “GROUNDED: Leading Your Life With Intention.”

“GROUNDED” is based on Dahl’s 15 years as a C-suite business leader and provides a compelling roadmap for leaders who are grounded in having an authentic, integrated life. The book is packed with down-to-earth wisdom and helpful tools for every stage of your life and career, in addition to serving as a guidebook for impactful leadership.

On Nov. 11, 2019, “GROUNDED” was announced as a distinguished favorite in the leadership category of the New York City Big Book Award. The competition received submissions from around the world and was judged by experts from different sectors of the book industry, including publishers, writers, designers and more. “We are happy to highlight these books, recognize their excellence, and share their achievements,” said awards sponsor Gabrielle Olczak.

“GROUNDED” was also selected as a winner in the career category for the 13th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards. The contest accepts submissions from small presses, mid-size independent publishers, university presses and self-published authors. “Winners and finalists are determined on a basis of superior written matter coupled with excellent presentation in every facet of the final published product. Jurors value the appropriate synergy of both content and form as they review entries spanning a wide range of genres,” the National Indie Excellence Awards noted in a press release.

Both awards recognize Dahl for her wisdom and insights on leadership and living an authentic life. “I wrote GROUNDED to help others learn how to lead a more intentional life – one that reflects not only who you are but also the direction you’d like to go – and help you navigate more effectively when life takes unexpected turns,” says Dahl, who served as the first woman president of a major division at Lifetouch and has held executive-level positions at other firms, including Cambria and Tastefully Simple.
